Powering the Isle of Wight Festival: Behind the Scenes at Acclaim Logistics

Wednesday, June 19, 2024

Are you heading to the Isle of Wight Festival this week?  The team at Acclaim Logistics has been hard at work over the last few days, working with the behind-the-scenes crew at the Festival to ensure that everything is in place, and ready for the arrival of artists and festivalgoers.

Earlier in the year, we were contacted by one of our customers in the West Midlands, who charged us with transporting 36 trailer loads of equipment across the Solent and directly to the Festival site.

These trailers contain essential equipment for the operation of the festival bars, including the bars themselves, their lighting systems, and – most importantly - a full selection of drinks.

Our customer has delivered the fully loaded trailers to the Red Funnel terminal in Southampton over the last few days, and we are now in the process of transporting these to the site in Newport where Festival staff have been helping to unpack the contents ready to assemble the bars.

Key to this process is delivery times, with each trailer needing to be delivered within a specific timeslot. With seven distinct delivery points at the Festival, the Acclaim team has faced a demanding task to successfully coordinate the safe arrival of all 36 trailers, on time and in the right location.

Once the Festival is over, we will return to site, collect the trailers, and transport them back across the Solent to the Red Funnel terminal.  From here they will be collected, re-filled, and then sent on their way to the next event or festival this summer.
