Port-Centric ETSF (ERTS) Service Launched

Following an extensive audit and approval process by HM Customs, we are very pleased to announce that Acclaim has now received ETSF (ERTS) accreditation for our Totton warehouse facility.

ETSF (more commonly known as ERTS) relates to a secure, dedicated storage area which is used to hold imported goods, not yet cleared by Customs. Upon arrival at Acclaim, the customer has a seven day rent-free period for Customs to clear their goods before longer-term storage or onward shipment is arranged. This port-centric sevice is far preferable to the freight remaining at the docks whilst awaiting clearance, with quay rent charges often excessive.

Managing Director Mark Robinson decided to apply for ETSF accreditation having spoken to several customers who expressed frustration at the unnecessary handling, storage and transportation costs incurred in the typical de-van and delivery process. In contrast, the Acclaim process has been specifically designed to eliminate these costs.

Mark explains: “Rather than trunking your goods from Southampton Docks to your storage premises, often at a cost of several hundred pounds, our end-to-end port-centric ETSF service will collect, palletise and store your goods at our customs-approved premises just five miles from the port. When you want stock returned to you, or sent out directly to your customers via the APC parcel or Palletways pallet networks, we’ll pick and pack the required items on your behalf, and deliver them wherever needed – whether in the UK, Europe or worldwide. You’ll have no trunking fees to pay, no expensive warehouse overheads and no handling charges”.

For one of our customers, the ETSF accreditation has had an immediate benefit. Having looked for larger, more expensive warehousing towards the end of last year, this new port-centric service has meant they can stay in their current premises, keeping overheads low and giving them the flexibility to increase/decrease stock levels to suit demand.
