The campaign has been created to help reduce road traffic collisions by raising awareness of common dangerous driving behaviours, including speeding, driving while distracted, not wearing a seatbelt, drink or drug impairment, and tailgating.

What is Project Pictogram?
Project Pictogram uses simple, recognisable visual messages to remind drivers of key road safety behaviours.
The campaign focuses on five major risk areas:
Speed
Seatbelts
Distractions, including mobile phone use
Drink and drug impairment
Tailgating
Speed, seatbelts, distractions and drink or drug impairment are known nationally as “The Fatal Four” because of the serious role they can play in road traffic collisions. Tailgating has also been included because it can lead to avoidable collisions and injuries, particularly on busy or limited road routes.
On the Isle of Wight, even smaller collisions can have a significant impact. Delays can affect residents, visitors, emergency access, local businesses and supply chains, especially where alternative routes are limited.
